Want to move mountains?

For truly I tell you, if you have faith
the size of a mustard seed, you will
say to this mountain, ‘Move from
here to there,’ and it will move; and
nothing will be impossible for you.”
(Matthew 17:20-21)

To have faith is to believe in something;to trust that it is so. Some people believe everything they are told. Others require proof for everything. Most people cannot have faith in something unless they know
something about it. That is why God has always provided humanity with lots of proof of his existence and his love, so we can easily believe it and have faith in him.

We believe in God for many reasons:
because we can see the incredible creation all around us,
because he has provided witnesses to testify of him,
because we see him working in the lives of those around us, and in our lives.
God has never asked us to have a "blind faith" or a faith with no basis. It would be very difficult to believe in something you have absolutely no evidence of. God has given his people many reasons to believe in him and his promises.

We may not see God himself in this life, but there is evidence all around that he exists, and that he keeps his promises.

Jesus had a special job for his disciples. They were given the power to do miracles in order to prove what they said about Jesus was true. God gave them everything they needed in order to do His work. The disciples of Jesus had to believe that God would do what they could not.

God gives each one of us everything we need to do God’s work. We just need to believe that God will provide all we need to do His work. He gives us the means to resist temptation, the strength to endure dificult times, and the wisdom to know right from wrong. However, we cannot do these things by ourselves. We must ask God to be that strength, endurance and wisdom and have faith that God will be there with us. With God's help, there is nothing that we cannot do. God can work with that little faith. God can move mountains with it.

Peace and love,

Sue
